Legacy

What is yours?

Most of my life I have always thought that a legacy is what is passed down from generation to generation. Obviously, it is often referred to as gifts of money or property. That is great; however, leaving a personal legacy involves so much more than just financial assets. It is about the actions you take during your life and how they affect others. We can all name examples of great people that have come before us that have left a lasting legacy.

The impact they had on you could have changed the direction of your life. For me, my grandfather on my dad’s side was one of those people for me. He was a farmer and a hard-working family man. Every day of his life he would rise early to make sure the crops were cared for and as he would say… rise and shine we have work to do. Every morning that I was there during the summer, I could not wait to learn and grow from his example.  As I write this, I am reminded of my own living legacy and the impact I can have right now on those around me.

  • How do I interact with those I know?
  • How do I interact with those that I do not know?
  • How to I advocate those I work with?
  • How do I champion causes that I am passionate about?
  • How do I impact my family with my actions?
  • How do I live in the moment with a zest for life?
  • How do people see you right now as you live your legacy every day?

As I write this message, I know each of us has a purpose. We all want to make our legacy lasting. What is your living legacy going to be?

As always thank you for the opportunity to share.
