Microsoft to acquire video game giant Activision Blizzard in $69B all-cash deal

 

Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) plans to make its biggest deal ever by paying almost $69 billion for the video game giant Activision Blizzard Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), the company confirmed Tuesday after multiple reports.

The company’s plan to buy Activision Blizzard will make it the world’s third-largest gaming company by revenue behind Tencent and its longtime console rival Sony, Microsoft said in a news release announcing the deal.
