July 15, 2020Barry’s message: Dale Carnegie, we all may remember him by the best-selling book entitled “How to Win Friends and Influence People” It was published in 1936 with over 30 million copies sold worldwide.
It is amazing how impactful his message still is today:
- “Don’t criticize, condemn, or complain” How we value others creates a more conducive environment!
- “Give honest and sincere appreciation” It must be sincere, meaningful and with love!
- “Arouse in the other person an eager want. What is their perspective?
- Be a good listener
- Be genuinely interested
I am reminded of that time in my life when I was 23 years old going to my first of many Dale Carnegie courses. I did not know what I did not know, but over the years I learned that the same principles still apply.
Treating people with respect, having a smile, listening and valuing another person’s viewpoint are still key to success, not only at work, but in life. It is so important today to recognize where we are and how we can help change the world in a positive way one person at a time.
As always thank you for allowing me to share. Be safe!
