“Do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

(Sean Patrick Flanery)

I saw this quote on a video that our COO, Phil McBride, did that stopped me and reminded me of what is important, especially right now.  He was talking about MEDS.

We need to take our “MEDS!”

  • Mindset: it is important that we find our happy place by setting a time aside for us to get back to a sense of order in a world that is not in order right now. There is a lot of noise and change that is causing us to be more reactive to what we hear and see. Yes, we need to stay informed, but we also need that balance.
  • Exercise: it is important that we find time for us so we can keep our minds and bodies in tune. That way they can act in harmony with each other and that support can help us cope with change.
  • Diet: we all know it is easy to create habits at times like this when stress sets in and balance is not there. We find an outlet in food especially that comfort food that we all know is just right there in the cupboard, I am not a great cook, but with the help of my wife we are learning new things to do together.
  • Sleep: we all know how important that is. Easier said then done sometimes. We know why this is important. It helps us start our next day refreshed and ready to go as the circle of life continues.

What are we doing today that is having an impact on those we love and those that look to us for wisdom and calmness? It is not about always being a “Pollyanna”. It is about making a difference and opening ourselves up to the possibilities.

This is most definitely a time when we all must pull together and support each other through the change that had been caused by the Coronavirus. For me I also hope that change will bring us closer to together. Perhaps we will be a little kinder, listen more and experience more of what life has to give us.

My heart goes out to all those that have lost loved ones and those they know to this virus. Be safe and in your chosen faith I wish you peace!

Thank you, as always, for allowing me to share. I am honored to be in an industry that does give back and working with those that care about others.
