Stanwood Washington is known for its Scandinavian hospitality. Home to several food processing plants. Historically these were staffed by Scandinavian immigrants which shaped the identity of the city through the 1950s.
Though still home a major frozen food plant, Stanwood is a popular spot for commuters traveling to Seattle or Everett. Currently one of the smallest cities in Snohomish county, it’s expected to almost double its size in the next fifteen years, along with nearby communities including Camano Island.
With eight public parks covering 85 acres, there are playgrounds, sports fields, and boat launches incorporated within the city. With a desire to retain its small-town character and sense of community. Stanwood residents preserve their rural environment while growing it is commercial and cultural hub.
