Beautiful Salem in the heart of the Willamette Valley is the capital of Oregon. This thriving city has an abundance of sights, locales, and activities for residents to enjoy.

Riverfront Park connects to the 1200-acre Minto-Brown State Park by the Minto Island Bridge to Bush’s Pasture Park and Rose Garden, the city is full of space for outdoor recreation and rejuvenation. And the Oregon State Fair & Exposition Center has plenty of exciting and engaging exhibits and events for the whole family.

Downtown Salem is vibrant and full of places to explore. There’s plenty to do with over 60 dining establishments, shops, a hotel, and two historic theaters. The downtown core also has plenty of walkable neighborhoods nearby, perfect for those working in state government, which is the largest employer in Salem.

The Willamette Heritage Center is home to several structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places and also houses a research library and the archives for Marion County, where Salem is located.

Salem is home to Willamette University, the oldest university in the Western United States, founded in 1842. The lovely campus is located directly south of the State Capital buildings on 62 acres. It is also home to the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, the third-largest museum in the state.

Salem’s neighborhoods have a variety of homes, from small to large. With close access to the freeway, local stores, restaurants, and good schools homes in Salem provide ease and convenience for residents.
