Renton, WA
Welcome to Our Community
Renton sits on the southeast shore of Lake Washington and at the junction of three major highways: I5, I405 and state route 167. That means we have easy access to Seattle, Bellevue, SeaTac airport, and the rest of the Puget Sound area, as well as the Lake and the Cascades including Mt Rainier.
Renton was incorporated in the early 1900s, but we really grew when Boeing started building planes here during World War 2. In the decades since, many large corporations have set up homes here, including Paccar, which makes Kenworth and Peterbilt commercial vehicles. IKEA opened their first Pacific Northwest location here in the mid-90s. The downtown core has been revitalized and is now home to the Piazza. During the summer, the Piazza hosts a farmers market, but there are events here throughout the year. Renton is also home to the facility where the Seattle Seahawk train.
Every summer, we have Renton River days, which was named for the Cedar River that flows right through town on its way to Lake Washington. The multiple day event features a parade, arts and crafts, food, entertainment and a kid’s zone with inflatables and other activities.
Renton has homes of all styles. Luxury homes on the water or in the Highlands, condominiums and townhouses overlooking Lake Washington, and new homes in friendly neighborhoods. All with access to tons of hiking and biking trails, a vibrant downtown, and some of the nicest people in the world.
