Northwest Portland, OR

Welcome to Our Community

In Northwest Portland, pockets known as Nob Hill, the Alphabet District, Trendy Third, Uptown, and 21st Avenue sit side by side and often overlap to create one of Portland’s most historic and one of its freshest neighborhoods.

The popularity of Northwest Portland is largely due to the shopping and dining that can be found on both 23rd and 21st Avenues. Big name brands like Levis, Gap, Pottery Barn, MAC cosmetics and Columbia Sportswear have shops that sit alongside independent boutiques, novelty and stationary stores, and some of Portland’s best restaurants, cafes and bars.

The residential part of this neighborhood is known as the Alphabet District due to the streets being named after famous Portlanders in alphabetic order (Burnside, Couch, Davis, Everett…through Nicolai), It is densely populated with homes ranging from hillside mansions and well cared for Victorian townhouses, to historic apartment buildings, and newer condominiums.

Northwest Portland is also home to large parts of Forest Park. The Lower Macleay trail starts right in the residential part of the neighborhood and then winds its way toward the Wildwood trail, which will take you all the way up to Pittock Mansion, one of Portland’s most beautiful and historic viewpoints. You can go for a hike and then take in the best of Portland’s dining scene in one morning or afternoon.

Not that you’d ever need a reason to leave Northwest, but if you did, the neighborhood is bordered by the swanky Pearl District, Goose Hollow, and downtown Portland. Most of the urban center of Portland is just a walk away.
