Welcome to Our Community

Bend has a well-earned reputation as an outdoor lover’s paradise. From Mt. Bachelor to the Deschutes River and the high desert in between, Bend has the goods to get you outside no matter what your favorite activity is.

Here’s just a bite of what Bend has to offer: skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing at Mt. Bachelor, one of the most beautiful and accessible of all the Cascade Mountains. Kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming and floating the Deschutes River, which flows right through town. Hiking, running and mountain biking on over 51 miles of in-town trails. Spelunking and caving. Disc golf and horseback riding. Rock climbing and golf. Whitewater rafting and bungee jumping. Tennis and bird watching. And with more than 300 sunny days each year, if you can do it outside, you can do it in Bend.

But Bend’s outdoorsy reputation overshadows what also makes this city great, namely it’s bustling downtown shopping and dining scene. Restaurants offering fresh ingredients and cuisines ranging from northwest to Mexican, Thai to Italian are all within the downtown core. Deschutes Brewery, one of the top ten independent breweries in the U.S. has it’s flagship spot in downtown Bend, alongside plenty of other hopping bars and pubs. Shops offer everything from organic clothing and locally made crafts, to records, candy from around the world, and home décor.

The Old Mill District also provides shopping and dining opportunities. Entertainment options in this part of town include a movie theater and the Les Schwab Amphitheater, which features nationally touring artists in a gorgeous outdoor setting.
