There’s something about Summer that brings more to each day than simply more sunlight. Whether road tripping with friends or family or spending more time out in the garden, this season has a way of reminding us to be present—and to choose how we spend our time with intention.
This July, a group of our John L. Scott teammates did just that by taking part in the Ragnar Northwest Passage Relay. For those unfamiliar, Ragnar is no ordinary race. It’s a 200+ mile team relay that winds from the Canadian border in Blaine, WA, through the forests and coastlines of the Pacific Northwest, and finishes on Whidbey Island. Teams of runners take turns—day and night—passing the baton across breathtaking terrain, running somewhere between 11 and 22 miles each. A host of other supporters are involved – people need to drive the support vans, facilitate the send-off and finish line reception, and countless other tasks large and small throughout the weekend (and in the months leading up to it!).
This year, 18 runners from our John L. Scott family formed two teams and took on the challenge in support of the John L. Scott Foundation. Their goal? To raise $25,000 to help provide life-changing care for children in our communities.
And while the miles were long, the mission was clear: every step was a stride toward better health and brighter futures for kids who need it most.
It’s easy to think of summer as a time to slow down—and it is. Which makes us even more proud to be on Team John L. Scott and work alongside those who truly embody our ethos: Living Life as a Contribution.
To everyone who ran, donated, or cheered from the sidelines: Thank you! You’ve made this summer not just memorable, but also deeply impactful.
