Gig Harbor, WA

Welcome to Our Community

A lot of people have only heard of Gig Harbor because of Galloping Gertie. But most Puget Sound residents know Gig Harbor for it’s incredible views, rich maritime heritage, dining and art scene. Gig Harbor earned the nickname “The Maritime City” for a good reason. We know the Native Americans fished here because the harbor was safe and calm.

Some of the first industry here was boat building and commercial fishing. Today boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, fishing, and whale watching can all be enjoyed just off our docks. During the summer, boaters and kayakers take in summer concerts in the park right from the water.

Gig Harbor has a good sense of a small-town feel combined with more cosmopolitan features. We have some of the best shopping on the West Sound and a unique blend of restaurants and bars. If you are craving a night in the city though, Seattle and Tacoma are either a drive or a ferry ride away.

However, what really sets Gig Harbor apart are the people. Everyone you encounter is smiling and friendly. It’s like we all know how lucky we are to live in this beautiful town and we want to pass that good fortune along.
